to introduce basic concepts and training in remote sensing (orbital), focusing in the maps generation of natural and anthropic landscape (urban and rural), in a way to quantify the space-temporal analysis of events and habitats
Physical principles of Remote Sensing. Types of orbit sensors.
Digital images and resolutions. Examples of several applications (temperature, pollution, fires, elevation, etc). Keys for interpretation of spatial objects. Georeferencing of satellite images. Techniques of image classification. Case study for the generation of map-images and temporal thematic maps of land cover.
All persons who want to learn the basic principles of Remote Sensing and acquire capabilities for treatment of digital images in order to produce thematic maps and develop spatial analysis.
The course will be divided in lectures (35%) and training (65%) using the free software SPRING.
