Elaine graduated in Physical Education by the Federal University of Espírito Santo (Brazil). In 2017, Elaine concluded her Master's degree in Health Education with the thesis "Socioeconomic inequalities in green space quality and accessibility: a challenge for making physical activity-friendly cities", conducted at the Public Health Institute of the University of Porto and at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto.
Currently, Elaine is a PhD student in the Doctoral Programme in Public Health at the Public Health Institute of the University of Porto and at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto.
Her research interests include assessing how the place where individuals work/live influence their health.
Her PhD project aims to investigate the relationship between the exposure to urban green spaces and the development of allergic diseases and asthma in childhood.
