I graduated in Mathematics-Informatics at the "Babes-Bolyai " University in Cluj-Napoca, Romania in 2001 and obtained my PhD in Applied Mathematics at the "Politecnico di Milano", Milano, Italy in 2008.

After my graduation I worked, as a researcher, in several projects in different areas of Mathematics such as Numerical Analysis at the University of Kiel, Germany (2001-2005), Discrete Mathematics at the "Politecnico di Milano" (2005-2008), Computational Mathematics in Phylogenetics at the University of Vigo, Spain (2008-2009), Statistics and Operations Research at the Universtiy of Lisbon, Portugal (2009-2016) and Mathematical Engineering at INESCTEC, University of Porto, Portugal (2016-2018). I was also active in teaching, concretely at the University of Lisbon, where I taught Operational Research exercise classes to bachelor and master students as well.

From December 2018 I moved to ISPUP of University of Porto, collaborating in the "DOCnet" project.
