Ana Rute Costa graduated in Psychology (Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences of the University of Porto), and obtained a Master Degree in Epidemiology [University of Porto Medical School (FMUP)] with the thesis “Prevalence and main determinants of preschool sleep disorders in a Portuguese birth cohort”. She started her professional activity in 2006 as a research fellow, at the Department of Clinical Epidemiology, Predictive Medicine and Public Health – FMUP. Currently, she is a PhD Student in Public Health (FMUP) with the project entitled ““Health care seeking behaviors among cancer survivors and their families” (SFRH/BD/102181/2014). She also a member of the Non-Communicable Diseases Epidemiology research group, within the Epidemiology Research Unit of the Institute of Public Health - University of Porto (EPIUnit-ISPUP).
