Manuel João de Lemos, was born in Luanda-Angola on March 23, 1969. He graduated in Human Medicine in 2003 at the Faculty of Medicine of Agostinho Neto University. He attended the master's degree in statistics at the University of Lisbon (2008 -2010). He has been a student of the Doctoral Program of Public Health of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto since 2010 and is developing the thesis "Effectiveness of schistosomiasis control and co-morbidities in Angola". He has been a general practitioner at the Principal Military Hospital (2006-2008) and since June 2012 he has been a Assistant Professor at the Public Health Department of Agostinho Neto University, where he is a member of the teaching and research team of Medical Statistics, Epidemiology, Demography and Community Health. He coordinates the teaching of basic statistics and groups of trainees in primary health care. His area of research interest is neglected tropical diseases. He is a member of the Portuguese Association of Epidemiology.
