Vânia Rocha has a degree in Physiotherapy (2010) and a master degree in Cardiopulmonary Physiotherapy (2013). Her background included several participations in research projects on older people, people with dementia and social housing. During clinical practice as physiotherapist, she worked closely with people with multi-disability and older people in nursing homes. Currently, Vânia is a PhD student on “the impact of the economic downturn in health of older people” at the Institute of Public Health, in the University of Porto. She integrates the Health and Society Department and the Social Epidemiology Research Group (EPIUnit). Her work in research led to some national and international publications.
