The successful candidate should preferentially have a Degree in Health related Sciences with emphasis on molecular and genetic aspects of health and disease. Expertise in qualitative data research is valued. The initiative and critical thinking will also be taken into account in evaluating candidates. Excellent reading, writing and comprehension skills in English and Portuguese are mandatory.
The researcher will be responsible for carrying out qualitative and quantitative studies with cohort’s participants, researchers and health care professionals on the relevance, expectations and difficulties faced during cohorts’ follow-up and to evaluate the impact of such determinants in multiple metabolic, cardiovascular and mental health outcomes of individuals born very preterm. Tasks include the design of study protocols, conduct of interviews with participants and key actors involved in the management of the cohorts, analysis of data and production of scientific papers.
Work place: Institute of Public Health of the University of Porto, Portugal.
Duration: The initial duration of the position is 12 months, with a predicted starting date of October 2017, and a possible extension up to the end of the project. The financial aspects are outlined in the budget allowance of the project, which assigns a gross salary of 2.127,88 € per month.
Selection criteria: The selection methods are curriculum evaluation (50%) and interview (50%). There will be a pre-selection based on curriculum evaluation; the best ranked candidates will be summoned to the interviews.
