The successful candidate should have a Degree in Sociology, Anthropology or related field and a PhD in Social Sciences or Health Sciences. Expertise in qualitative data research is required. The initiative and critical thinking will also be taken into account in evaluating candidates. Excellent reading, writing and comprehension skills in English and Portuguese are mandatory. Communication skills in other languages (German/ French/ Dutch/ Finnish/Swedish) would be a strong asset.
The researcher will be responsible for carrying out a qualitative study with cohort’s participants, researchers and health care professionals on the relevance, expectations and difficulties faced on cohorts follow-up. Tasks include the design of the study protocol, conducting interviews with participants and key actors involved in the management of the cohorts, analysis of qualitative data and production of scientific papers.
Work place: Institute of Public Health of the University of Porto, Portugal.
Duration: The initial duration of the position is 12 months, with a predicted starting date of October 2017, and a possible extension up to the end of the project. The financial aspects are outlined in the budget allowance of the project, which assigns a salary of 2127.88 per month.
Selection criteria: The selection methods are curriculum evaluation (50%) and interview (50%). There will be a pre-selection based on curriculum evaluation, the best ranked candidates will be summoned to the interviews.
Notification of results: The ranking list of candidates will be published at ISPUP website (http://www.ispup.up.pt), and the selected candidate will be notified by email and telephone.
