Reference: NORTE-01-0145-FEDER-000003 - Diabetes & obesity at the crossroads between Oncological and Cardiovascular diseases – a system analysis NETwork towards precision medicine (DOCnet).

 

Admission requirements: The successful candidate should have a PhD in Biostatistics, Statistics, Mathematics or equivalent and have training and professional experience in advanced statistical techniques to population health research. Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in cohort studies projects and with excellent track record of publications in international peer-reviewed journals. Candidates are expected to write and to speak English fluently. Portuguese fluency is not essential.

 

Activity Outline: The researcher will be responsible for providing appropriate statistical input in the design, implementation and analysis of studies.  We are looking for an autonomous researcher who will design and supervise the statistical analysis and is expected to lead the production of original work publishable in the form of full text papers in international journals.

 

Work place: Institute of Public Health of the University of Porto, Portugal.

 

Duration: Work contract with non-fixed term according to the Labour Code, with the expected starting date on December 2018. This contract cannot exceed the project’s final duration.

 

Salary: The financial aspects are outlined in the budget allowance of the project, which assigns a gross salary of 2027.88€ per month, adding the food allowance of 4,27€. The salary is paid 14 months per year.

 

Selection criteria: The selection methods used will be curriculum evaluation (50%) and interview (50%). There will be a pre-selection based on ranking by curriculum evaluation, being summoned to interview the selected candidates.

 

Notification of results: The ranking list of candidates will be sent by email and all relevant information will be published at the ISPUP website (http://www.ispup.up.pt). The selected candidates will be notified by email and telephone.
