The successful candidate should have (1) a PhD in Public Health, Epidemiology or a related field, (2) working experience in health research projects (3) good track record of publications in international peer-reviewed journals (4) fluency in English.
The initiative, critical thinking and good communication will also be taken into account in evaluating candidates. Preference will be given to candidates with team management skills and knowledge in Pediatric and Perinatal Epidemiology.
We are looking for an autonomous researcher who will be responsible for coordinating tasks involved in Work Package 6 of RECAP Project. The duties include scientific outputs of the project, with a special focus on participation in longitudinal cohort studies of very preterm infants.
Work place: Institute of Public Health of the University of Porto, Portugal.
Duration: The initial duration of the position is 12 months, with a predicted starting date of February 2019, and a possible extension up to the end of the project (2021). The financial aspects are outlined in the budget allowance of the project, which assigns a salary of 2027.88 per month (adding the food allowance).
Selection criteria: The selection methods are curriculum evaluation (60%) and interview (40%). There will be a pre-selection based on curriculum evaluation, the best ranked candidates will be summoned to the interviews.
Criteria for Curriculum Vitae evaluation (scale from 0 to 20 points)
- Coordination/participation in health research projects (0-5 points)
- Quality and number of publications in peer-reviewed journals (0-5 points)
- Proficiency in English, written and spoken (0-4 points)
- Proven experience in team management skills (0-4 points)
- Good knowledge in Pediatric and Perinatal Epidemiology (0- 2)
Notification of results: The ranking list of candidates will be published at ISPUP website (http://www.ispup.up.pt), and the selected candidate will be notified by email and telephone.
