Laboratory Animal Science, i3S - Instituto de Investigação e Inovação em Saúde, Universidade do Porto
Few topics of contemporary biomedical research give rise to more public discussion than animal experimentation and gene editing. In this seminar, we present two qualitative research studies into how scientists think about the ethical, legal and social issues surrounding their research. Both studies are based on semi-structured interviews with senior researchers, focusing on regulation of animal research and on use of CRISPR-Cas9 for genome editing in human and animal health, respectively.
We will also reflect on what role animal experimentation plays in a One Health context.
The Webinar will be broadcast via streaming on the ISPUP's YouTube Channel.
