Daniela Rojas Castro is the Director of the Community-based Research Department of Coalition Plus, and also an associated researcher at INSERM (the French National Institute of Health and Medical Research). She holds a PhD in Social Psychology and Methodology from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (Madrid University).

With 19 years of research experience, Daniela has been involved in international HIV research projects and is the author of numerous scientific publications and other works. She is also co-principal investigator of the ANRS-Sextra, ANRS-Prevenir and ANRS-Outsider studies, as well as co-investigator of numerous other projects (ANRS-Ipergay, V3T, GOTA, Eurosupport 6, COBATEST, EURO HIV EDAT and EMIS among others).

She is a member of the International Scientific Committee of the AIDS Impact Conference, participates in the Steering Committee of the Dublin Declaration on Partnership to Fight HIV/AIDS in Europe and Central Asia (ECDC) and a Steering Committee member of the PrEP in Europe Initiative. She is also part of the “Coordinated Action 47” (AC47, a research group) at the ANRS (the French National Agency of Research on AIDS and viral hepatitis) on "Dynamics and control of HIV and hepatitis epidemics", which concerns research projects implemented in the North and the South. She is regularly invited to deliver lectures for the Master 2 "Economic and Social Studies" at the Paris-Sorbonne University.

The Community-based Research Department is currently implementing, analyzing and valorizing several research projects among Coalition PLUS member countries (Argentina, Bolivia, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Canada, Ecuador, France, Malaysia, Mali, Mauritius, Morocco, Portugal, Romania, Senegal and Switzerland).
