The Speaker is Mariana Dyakova – Public Health Wales

Mariana Dyakova, Specialist in Public Health, Deputy Director and International Health Lead, WHO Collaborating Centre on Investment for Health and Well-being, Public Health Wales
Dr Dyakova is leading a portfolio of work, focusing on sustainable investment in and solutions for population well-being and health equity, international health, and health systems strengthening. She is an Honorary Clinical Research Fellow at the University of Warwick with a substantial academic and advocacy track record informing policy and practice across the UK and globally. Dr Dyakova has been involved in public health capacity building, Value-Based Public Health and integrated care projects, strengthening the case for investing in prevention and early intervention through innovative approaches and tools. Originally from Bulgaria, she has a diverse international experience and portfolio, working closely with the World Health Organization (WHO) and European health associations, partners and networks. She is a Fellow of the UK Faculty of Public Health, sitting on the WHO Healthy Cities Scientific Board and the WHO Regions for Health Network Steering Group. She continues her research and training activity, including academic supervision and editorial member of the European Journal of Public Health and the Frontiers of Public Health.
