Ana Catarina Carvalho

Catarina Carvalho graduated in Nutrition Sciences, in 2015, by the Faculty of Food Science and Nutrition of the University of Porto. In 2018 she finished her master’s degree in Food Science and Technology at University of Minho and Faculty of Sciences of University of Porto.

In January 2018 she joined the team of the National Food, Nutrition and Physical Activity Survey of the Portuguese general population (IAN-AF 2015-2016) and two EFSA projects (Risk-Benefit4EU – GA/EFSA/AFSCO/2017/01 – GA02; and Dose-response relationships in health risk assessment of nutritional and toxicological factors in foods – GA/EFSA/ AFSCO/2017/01 – GA09). Currently, she is a PhD student in Public Health at FMUP, with an individual FCT doctoral grant (SFRH/BD/146078/2019).

Her main research interests are related to food and nutrient intake assessment, risk-benefit assessment of food consumption and environmental sustainability of the diet.

Catarina is a member of the Food, Consumption and Sustainability Lab from ITR.
