Gloria Macassa

Gloria Macassa is a medical doctor with a PhD in Epidemiology from Karolina Institute, Sweden.

She is a Professor of Public Health Sciences specialised in social epidemiology. Her research focus on how socially and economically adverse experiences are measured as well as how they impact health outcomes across the life span in high, middle and low-income countries.

She also investigates how different types of violence relate to health outcomes, especially how the combined effects of violence and socioeconomic disadvantage influence health through the life course.

Currently she is investigating how corporate social responsibility, responsible leadership, social entrepreneurship and social sustainability can help promote population health, as well as the impact of food insecurity on health equity.
