Gustavo Soutinho completed a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from the Faculty of Science of University of Porto in 2022 under the supervision of Professors Pedro Oliveira (Biomedical Sciences Institute Abel Salazar) and Luís Meira-Machado (University of Minho) in the research area of multi-state models, estimation of transition Probabilities, and the joint modeling of longitudinal and survival data.
He has also received a master in Statistics from the University of Minho and his degree in Mathematics from the Faculty of Science of University of Porto. He also obtained a post-graduation in Information Systems from University of Minho.
He has been working in several projects involving biostatistics, sampling, estimation and multivariate statistical process control at INE – Statistics of Portugal, BOSCH Car Multimedia Portugal and the hospitals of Guimarães.
He has also been taught as invited teacher at University of Minho and Polytechnic Institute of Cavado and Ave (IPCA).
Since 2018, he is integrated at EPIUnit as a researcher. Currently, he is associated to the “Searching, Selecting and Spreading: the three S´s of an Infodemic”.
