Hamida Hemedi Nkata was born in 1978 at Sikonge, Tabora-Tanzania. She is a committed and professional Public health nurse who hopes to build on the experience gained from clinical and public health settings as well as teaching roles. She graduated her diploma in nursing at Nkinga School of Nursing in 2000 followed by Advanced Diploma in nursing education at Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Health Sciences in 2008 -Tanzania.

Also in 2011 she graduated her degree of Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Jonkoping University-Sweden. Her thesis focused on Men’s perceptions toward accompanying their partners to antenatal clinic. Then in 2014 she graduated her Master in Public Health at Umea University-Sweden and her Master’s thesis focused on parent’s perceptions towards induced abortion among female students aged 14-19 years at Igunga District, Tabora –Tanzania.

Currently she is a PhD student of Global Public Health program first edition (2014/2018) working on her thesis titled public perceptions about unsafe induced abortions among secondary school adolescents in Tanzania. She is a beneficiary of Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology scholarship (FCT) with Ref: PD/BD/ 105826/2014.
