Training: Medical doctor since 2010, Specialist in Public Health since 2019. Master in Public Health since 2015. PhD at the NOVA University of Lisbon in 2019. Completed training on clinical research (Clinical Scholars Research Training - Harvard Medical School) and quantitative and mixed methods (Instituto de Saúde Pública and Lisbon School of Economics & Management).

 

Professional activity: Researcherand co-manager of the SILNE-R project (Horizon 2020) work package in Portugal (2015-2018). Former head of the Portuguese Association for Public Health Promotion (2016-2018). Expert at the National Health Council since 2020 and assistant professor at the Faculty of Medicine of Porto. Collaborates with the Escola Nacional de Saúde Pública of the Universidade NOVA de Lisboa and Instituto de Saúde Pública da Universidade do Porto. Consultant at the World Health Organization in health equity.

 

Research interests: Health inequalities and social epidemiology; economic evaluation of social and health policies.
