Filipa Fontes has a degree in nursing (Escola Superior de Enfermagem de Santa Maria-Porto) and obtained a Master of Science in Epidemiology (FMUP) with the thesis: “Patterns in prostate cancer mortality trends”. She is currently a PhD student in Public Health (FMUP) with the project entitled “The impact of neuropathic pain in health related quality of life and sleep quality of breast cancer patients”, funded by Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia (SFRH/BD/92630/2013) and member of the Non-Communicable Diseases Epidemiology research group (EPIUnit-ISPUP). Her research interests are the study of the global burden of cancer, namely breast cancer, and its impact in patient-reported outcomes.
