Liane Correia Costa completed an Integrated Master's Degree in Medicine in 2008 and, in 2015, she obtained a PhD in Clinical Research and Health Services, from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto, with the thesis entitled “Childhood obesity-related inflammation and vascular injury – impact on the kidney”. Since 2016 she has been a pediatric hospital assistant and works at the Pediatric Nephrology Unit of the Centro Materno-Infantil do Norte – Centro Hospitalar Universitário do Porto. She was a volunteer professor of Pediatrics at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto from 2010 to 2016 and is currently a Visiting Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the Instituto de Ciências Biomédicas Abel Salazar. She is coordinator of the Research and Training Unit at the Centro Materno-Infantil do Norte. She is interested in research in the area of cardiovascular risk and the determinants of chronic kidney disease in children, an area in which she has several publications in international journals.
