Degree in Physiotherapy and Master degree in cardiopulmonary physiotherapy;

Participated as research fellow in several projects on health of older people, people with dementia and people living in social housing;

She also exerted clinical practice as a physiotherapist in a number of units in the Aveiro district;

Currently, Vânia is a PhD student in the doctoral programme in Public Health from the Institute of Public Health and from the Faculty of Medicine of University of Porto; 

Her research interests include socioeconomic inequalities affecting health of the population over the life course, specifically respiratory health inequalities. The epidemiology of respiratory diseases, and the protective or risk factors which may lead to respiratory health inequalities are also of her interest.
