Obesity is a serious public health challenge that may only be effectively tackled by increasing people's food literacy. In adolescence, people begin to make autonomous food choices. For this reason, it is a key-moment to fight and prevent obesity. Considering this, PLATE is a communication tool on food and healthy living that aims to contribute to the increase of food literacy and to fight overweight among adolescents. It is an integrated technology-driven program for young people aged 12 to 15 to be developed and tested in
schools. It includes an app, SMS interactions, offline activities and content upload to a website, technological solutions that are strongly appealing for teenagers.
