On January 12th, at 2:00 pm, we will have a seminar at ISPUP Auditorium, entitled “Living among visitors: the health implications of touristification”. This seminar will be presented by Agustín Cocola-Gant (PhD in human geography from Cardiff University).

Agustín Cocola-Gant is an assistant researcher at IGOT, the Institute of Geography and Spatial Planning at the University of Lisbon. His research lies at the intersection of urban and tourism studies, with a focus on the touristification of cities and the short-term rental market. Between 2018 and 2022 he was principal investigator of the Smartour project, which explored the growth of short-term rentals in Lisbon and Porto.

This seminar is a component of the Urban Health Conversation Series, an initiative under the HUG project (PTDC/GES-OUT/1662/2020), and part of the activities of ISPUP as a WHO Collaborating Center.
