Mariana Amorim

PhD in Global Public Health (2018), Master in Clinical and Health Psychology (2010), she is currently researcher and Co-PI of the project UNFOLD – In the shadow of violence: a life-course approach to unfold the scars on the body and mind over childhood and adolescence, funded by FCT (2022.06837.PTDC).

She is a member of the research group on Social Epidemiology (EPIUnit – Epidemiology Research Unit) at ISPUP and the Lab Social Adversity and Health Inequalities from ITR.

She is particularly interested in the study of Childhood Social Adversities, Quality of Life and Resilience, using qualitative and mixed methodologies.

She was a FCT PhD fellow with the project “Quality of life in parents of very preterm infants: insights from family integrated care”, which was awarded with the prize for best PhD thesis in the area of quality of life, well-being, and happiness by the International Society for Quality-of-Life Studies (ISQOLS). She was involved as a research fellow and researcher in several funded national and international projects.
