Arminé Abrahamyan holds a Bachelor of Science with Honors in Psychology (2008) and a Master of Science in Clinical Psychology (2010) from Yerevan State University. She also earned a Master of Public Health (2015) from the American University of Armenia and completed her PhD in Public Health (2024) at the University of Porto (FCT scholarship ref: SFRH/BD/144503/2019).
She is a member of the Laboratory for Integrative and Translational Research in Population Health (ITR) at the Research Lab on Social Adversity and Health Inequalities.
Currently, as a junior researcher, she conducts research activities under the project “EARLY – Evaluating, Identifying, and Reducing Determinants of Mental Health Conditions in Youth” [ref: 101095392], funded by the Horizon Europe Programme. Arminé has actively participated in and presented her work at various national and international conferences. She has authored and co-authored several scientific publications in international journals.
Her research interests lie in the field of social epidemiology, with a particular focus on social determinants of health, health inequalities, and the impact of adverse childhood experiences on the physical and mental health of children, adolescents, and youth.
In 2016, Arminé was awarded the prize for the best poster at the ASPHER Young Researchers Forum for her outstanding master’s thesis project on the pediatric palliative care needs of adolescents with cancer and their parents.
