Experts, politicians and members of the civil society gathered at the Museu Nacional Soares dos Reis (Porto), on February 5, to discuss the main challenges and promises of biobanks – repositories of human samples that help predict the onset of disease. Alexandre Quintanilha (deputy to the Assembly of the Republic) and Henrique Barros (President of ISPUP) were some of the speakers. The conference was organised by the Instituto de Saúde Pública da Universidade do Porto (ISPUP).
