The Instituto de Saúde Pública da Universidade do Porto (ISPUP) completes 15 years of existence on July 14th. The event will be marked with several activities taking place between July 12th and 15th.
The celebrations begin on July 12th, with the inauguration of the exhibition Excursão Catedrática à Neblina Rosa, at 3pm, in the Painel Gallery.
July 13th will be dedicated to public health professionals, with an English-speaking webinar, taking place from 2pm to 4pm, under the name The tools to act: training the new Public Health workforce.
The session, moderated by Teresa Leão, ISPUP researcher and public health physician, will also feature a commentary by Robert Otok, from ASPHER (Association of Schools of Public Health in the European Region), as well as the participation of several alumni, Master’s and PhD students in public health and health education, and intern physicians with specific training in public health. The webinar will be broadcasted on ISPUP’s Youtube page.
Local Government and Public Health
The Institute’s anniversary, July 14th, will be celebrated with the session The Local Government and Public Health, at the Rectory Building of the Universidade do Porto, between 2:30pm and 4:30pm.
Moderated by Henrique Barros, President of ISPUP, this session will feature interventions from the Mayors of Porto, Vila Nova de Gaia, Gondomar, Valongo, Matosinhos and Maia.
This session will also be available for viewing on ISPUP’s Youtube channel.
The week of commemorations ends on July 15th with a live webinar on the PÚBLICO newspaper website, where the study “Diaries of a Pandemic”, a collaborative initiative between ISPUP, INESC TEC and the PÚBLICO newspaper, will be the main topic.
Entitled An emerging disease, many stories – readings from the Diaries of a Pandemic, the webinar will be moderated by Amílcar Correia, Deputy Director of the PÚBLICO newspaper. ISPUP researcher Raquel Lucas, as well as Artur Rocha, from INESC-TEC, Regina Guimarães and Pedro Quintas, participants in the study Diaries of a Pandemic, Ana Sampaio, from the Portuguese Association of Inflammatory Bowel Disease, and Maria de Belém Roseira, from the Diaries of a Pandemic study advisory group, will also participate.
