Researchers from the Instituto de Saúde Pública da Universidade do Porto (ISPUP) won the first three prizes for best oral communications at the XX Congress of Food and Nutrition & II International Congress of Food and Nutrition, organised by the Portuguese Nutrition Association (APN).
The first prize for best oral communication was awarded to the work entitled A New Height-for-Age Growth reference and its efficiency in the classification of the nutritional status of multi-ethnic children and adolescents, whose first author is Mariane de Oliveira, from the University of São Paulo, and in which ISPUP researchers Joana Araújo and Elisabete Ramos also participated.
Vanda Craveiro, Milton Severo and Elisabete Ramos won the second prize for best oral communication with the research entitled Body fat distribution and high-sensitivity C-Reactive protein in adulthood.
The third prize for best oral communication was given to researchers Ana Rita Marinho, Milton Severo, Duarte Torres, and Carla Lopes, for the work Dietary fibre intake and its association with adiposity indicators and insulin-related biomarkers during childhood: Generation XXI study.
ISPUP researchers Rita Pereira, Alexandra Costa, Sarah Warkentin and Andreia Oliveira were also distinguished with the third prize for best poster for the work Sleep Duration is associated with appetitive behaviors at 7 years-old – results from the Generation XXI Cohort.
