Studying pain experiences throughout the life course

Date

08 November 2024

Place

ISPUP Auditorium

On November 8th, at 2:00 pm, Kate Dunn will present a seminar entitled: “Studying pain experiences throughout the life course”. This event will take place at ISPUP Auditorium and it has free admission.

In this seminar we will invite Prof Kate Dunn from Keele University to share her extensive experience studying the etiology and course of musculoskeletal pain in population-based studies. We will also invite early career researchers from ISPUP to share and discuss their experiences conducting pain research in the Generation XXI cohort, as part of the SEPIA study (Studying Experiences of Pain In Adolescents). SEPIA bridges population-based and clinical cohorts to investigate early markers of adverse musculoskeletal pain trajectories. We expect to contribute to better identify children at higher risk of chronic musculoskeletal pain, especially in the absence of primary organic lesions, within an understanding of pain as a life course experience.
