Débora Abreu is a psychologist and student at the Doctoral Program in Psychology at the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences of the University of Porto (FPCEUP). She finished her Masters in Psychology, in the area of Psychological Intervention, Education and Human Development in 2019. She has been collaborating with the FPCEUP Centre for Developmental and Educational Child Psychology (CPDEC) since 2019 on several projects. Of particular note is her collaboration in the monitoring and evaluation the project “Casa do Xisto: A Arte para a (D)Eficiência” (SERV0082_Educasom_2019), in the inclusion of people with functional diversity (between 2019 and 2022), and with the “ProCHILD – Development and Education in Day Care” project (since 2022). In 2022, she collaborated with the University of Maia in the project “Gender Equality and Sexual and Gender-Based Violence in Portuguese School Contexts: Knowledge and Attitudes of Students and Teachers” (funded by The International Planned Parenthood Federation European Network). In 2023, she began her collaboration at the Institute of Public Health of the University of Porto (ISPUP) as a research assistant within the “Generation XXI Cohort”. Her research interests are in pediatric psycho-oncology, participation, development and involvement in everyday contexts and inclusion in school contexts. She has experience in intervention in early childhood and in counselling/therapy with children and adolescents. She has published articles in peer-reviewed journals, articles in conference proceedings and presented oral communications.
