Karla Costa is a nutritionist graduated from the Federal University of Pernambuco (2011), specialist in Family Health from the University of Pernambuco (2014), master in Child and Adolescent Health from the Federal University of Pernambuco (2016), PhD in Public Health by the Oswaldo Cruz-PE Foundation (2022).
She is currently a Senior Technician in the scope of the Health Planning activities of the Instituto de Saúde Pública da Universidade do Porto (ISPUP).
Since 2019, she is also a member of the Association of Black and Racialized Mothers in Portugal (SaMaNe), and from 2022, she is its vice-president.
She has experience in the field of Public Health, with main academic and non-academic activities within the following subjects: Primary Health Care, food and nutrition, health policy analysis and the interface between race and sexual and reproductive health.
