Luísa Alvim Barateiro is a biologist and epidemiologist. She is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Epidemiology and has already completed a postgraduate course in Epidemiology at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lisbon. Additionally, she holds a postgraduate certificate in Forensic Sciences, Criminal Investigation, and Deviant Behavior from the CRIAP Institute and a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Aveiro.
In 2020, she began her career in scientific research at the CESAM – Center for Environmental and Marine Studies, in the field of Marine Ecotoxicology.
Presently, she is a member of ISPUP’s Health and Territory Laboratory, where she is developing her master’s thesis on Gentrification and Health under the supervision of Professor Ana Isabel Ribeiro and Professor José Pedro Silva.
At the same time, she is also a board member of UMAR – Union of Women for Alternative and Alternative and Response, treasurer of PYASMA – Portuguese Youth for Aeronautics and Space Medicine Association, member of the Order of Biologists and member of the Portuguese Society of Public Health.
