Mónica Matos is currently a grant-holder from the Foundation for Science and Technology (SFRH/BD/143195/2019) hosted by Institute of Public Health os the University of Porto (ISPUP). She is a PhD student at University of Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro. In 2013, she graduated in Sports and Physical Activity in Polytechnic Institute of Viseu (IPV) and finished her master’s degree in Physical Activity for Older Adults at Faculty of Sports, University of Porto (FADEUP). In 2014 she participated in an Intensive Program at University of Southern Denmark (SDU) entitled “Moving in Old Age – Interdisciplinary Approaches to the study of Ageing” and in 2016 she was an intern researcher at University of Coventry to study physical activity in elderly population. From 2016 to 2018 she was research assistant at the Research Center in Sports Sciences, Health Sciences and Human Development (CIDESD). Currently she is a researcher at Laboratory for Integrative and Translational Research in Population Health (ITR) and she cooperates with Diabetes em Movimento aiming to investigate physical activity in risk of foot ulcers.
