Sandra Moutinho

Sandra Moutinho, born in Madrid (Spain), in 1994, is a Master in Geographic Information Systems and Spatial Planning, and she has a degree in Geography at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Porto (FLUP). She published her master’s thesis about the importance of GIS in the spatial analysis of burn victims in the Metropolitan Area of Porto from 2000 to 2013.

Her research interests are essentially focused on the areas of geographic information systems, spatial analysis, geostatistics, modelling, epidemiology and health geography.

She is a collaborating member of the Centre of Studies in Geography and Spatial Planning (CEGOT) and is currently carrying out her PhD thesis on the incidence of mosquito-borne diseases in Portugal through spatial and temporal distribution, a research project funded by the Foundation for Science and Technology (2020.07201.BD).
