Sara Mosca completed her Integrated Master in Medicine in 2015 at the Institute of Biomedical Sciences Abel Salazar, University of Porto. In 2017, she started her residency in Pediatrics at Centro Materno Infantil do Norte – Centro Hospitalar Universitário do Porto (CMIN-CHUP). In the same year, she became a PhD student at a Public Health Doctoral Program at Institute of Public Health/ Faculty of Medicine, University of Porto, Portugal, with a project entitled “Obesity Impact on the Kidney – from Childhood to Adolescence”. She is a voluntary assistant professor of Pediatrics at the Institute of Biomedical Sciences Abel Salazar, University of Porto since 2018.
Her main research interests are obesity, cardiovascular risk, inflammation and endothelial dysfunction. She attended several Internalstional and national conferences, where she presented numerous scientific and academic works.
She received a research grant from the Pediatric Portuguese Society and one award from the project “Ciência Viva – FCT, currently she is part of the Associated Laboratory ITR, on the Lab “Cardiometabolic risk and early vascular damage – impact on the kidney, under the supervision of Professor Alberto Caldas Afonso. She is currently the responsible resident for all pediatric residents from CMIN-CHUP and co-supervisor of one medicine master student.
