Sónia Vilar Gomes de Sá is a graduate in Zootechnical Engineering and a Masters in Veterinary Medicine. She has been developing clinical activity with a particular focus on the control and mitigation of zoonotic diseases. She is today a PhD student at the Abel Salazar Institute of Biomedical Sciences (ICBAS), University of Porto.
Her main interests are centred on the epidemiology and control of infectious diseases with an impact on Public Health, with a special focus on the sylvatic and domestic animal reservoirs for diseases with an impact on animal and human health, particularly on the vectorial transmission of filariasis
