Sarah Warkentin is a Nutritionist, specialist in Health, Nutrition and Child Nutrition, has a Masters and PhD in Sciences by the Department of Pediatrics from the Federal University of São Paulo (UNIFESP), São Paulo, Brazil. She performed a one-year internship during her PhD at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, Baltimore, USA.
She worked as a university professor at Universidade Paulista (UNIP) in the Nutrition and Nursing Bachelor courses, besides supervising curricular internships, from 2012 to 2018. In 2019, she joined the Institute of Public Health of the University of Porto (ISPUP) as a post-doctorate researcher and is a member of the Laboratory for Integrative and Translational Research in Population Health (ITR), in the Laboratory “Eating Behaviors and Childhood Obesity”.
Her current research interests are related to appetitive traits in childhood and adolescence and parental feeding practices, assessment of food consumption and its determinants and factors that influence eating habits and childhood obesity.
