Carla Lopes, a researcher at the Instituto de Saúde Pública da Universidade do Porto (ISPUP), is a new member of the Association of Schools of Public Health in the European Region (ASPHER) Executive Board.
The researcher was elected for a term that will begin next year, in what is one of the main European organizations, dedicated to strengthening the role of public health, through the promotion of education and the practical training of professionals in the field.
Carla Lopes has a vast scientific curriculum in the area of Public Health and Epidemiology.
She is an Associate Professor at the Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade do Porto (FMUP), with a Public Health Aggregation. She is the coordinator of the doctoral program in Public Health at FMUP; of the Department of Nutrition in Public Health of ISPUP and of the research group in Epidemiology of Nutrition and Obesity of the Epidemiology Research Unit (EPIUnit) of ISPUP.
Her main areas of research focus on the determinants of food consumption and eating behaviours, diet and cardiovascular health, and dietary assessment methods.
