Sandra Mendes completed her degree in Sports Sciences, Exercise and Health branch at the Faculty of Sports of the University of Porto (FADEUP) in 2011 and her master’s degree in Health Education at the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Porto (FMUP) in 2014.
She began collaborating in research during her bachelor’s and master’s degrees. Initially in the area of cardiovascular diseases, at the Institute of Public Health of the University of Porto (ISPUP), having then joined the team at the Cardiovascular Research and Development Unit (UNIC) da FMUP. Later, at the same Faculty, she joined the team of the PaCeIT research line – Patient-centered technologies and information, integrated into CINTESIS – Research Center for Health Technologies and Services, where she dedicated herself essentially to the area of chronic respiratory diseases.
She is currently a researcher at ISPUP within the scope of the project “PRUDENT: Prioritization, Incentives and Resource Use for Sustainable Dentistry”, reference no. 101094366, funded by the European Commission, within the scope of the Horizon Europe program.
Areas of interest: education/health promotion; health inequalities; health literacy.
