- Understand the epidemiology of Non-Tuberculous Mycobacteria (NTM) at a global and national level, with an emphasis on current trends and risk groups.
-Recognise the main pulmonary and extrapulmonary clinical manifestations of NTM, differentiating the different types of infections and their severity.
- Apply appropriate laboratory and imaging diagnostic techniques to identify NTM.
- Decide on the appropriate treatment, weighing up the need to treat, choosing between standard and individualised treatments, and integrating newly available drugs.
- Managing the adverse effects of treatment, optimising therapeutic monitoring and adjustment.
- Discuss real clinical cases, promoting an interactive and collaborative approach to decision-making.
- Explore non-pharmacological therapeutic approaches and future prospects in the treatment of NTM.
