Carla Almeida has a first degree in Nutritional Sciences, from Faculty of Nutrition and Food Sciences from Oporto University (FCNAUP) (2015) and conclude her master’s degree in Consumer Sciences and Nutrition (2019) in FCNAUP/Faculty of Sciences of Oporto University.
Was part of the research team of the Nutriscience Project, a national project focused on the promotion of food/nutrition literacy of families of pre-school children, funded by EEA Grants Programme (85NU1). Co-author of two manuscripts published in International Scientific Journals about food literacy and food consumption determinants, and two published books: ‘Nutriciência à Mesa’ e ‘Saudáveis e à Portuguesa’. Responsible for an awarded oral communication in the 20th Portuguese Congress of Obesity. Responsible for several food education initiatives developed in the community while coordinator of a project focusing on the promotion of physical activity and prevention of obesity. In the present, is a PhD research Fellow of Foundation for Science and Technology—FCT (Portuguese Ministry of Science, Technology and Higher Education). Is a PhD student in Food Consumption and Nutrition Sciences in FCNAUP, conducting a research about environmental modulation and food behavior in food retail context.
