Liane Correia Costa completed her Integrated Master in Medicine in 2008 at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto. In 2015, she obtained her PhD degree in Clinical Research and Health Services, by the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto, with a thesis entitled “Inflammation related to childhood obesity and injury vascular – impact on the kidney”.
She is a Pediatric assistant and Pediatric Nephrology fellow at Centro Materno-Infantil do Norte, Centro Hospitalar Universitário do Porto, since 2016.
She was a Voluntary Assistant Professor of Pediatrics of Faculty of Medicine, University of Porto, from 2010 to 2016 and, currently, she is Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Instituto de Ciências Biomédicas de Abel Salazar, University of Porto, since 2016.
She is the coordinator of the Education and Research Unit at Centro Materno-Infantil do Norte, Centro Hospitalar Universitário do Porto. Her main research interests are obesity and cardiovascular risk and chronic kidney disease determinants in children, areas in which she has several publications in international peer-reviewed journals.
