Henrique Barros, president of the Instituto de Saúde Pública da Universidade do Porto (ISPUP) and of the National Health Council, was distinguished, on the 9th of July, with the Municipal Medal of Merit – Gold Grade, by the Porto City Council.
This medal is destined “to those who have practised acts of notable benefit to the city of Porto, through the improvement of the living conditions of its population, development or diffusion of its art, dissemination or deepening of its history, and other acts of notable importance”.
Henrique Barros was one of the personalities distinguished in the Municipal Medals’ award cerimony, which took place in the Gardens of the Palácio de Cristal.
40 individuals were honoured with the Municipal Medals of Honour, Merit and Good Services for having contributed, in the present and the past, “to the prestige of an undefeated and resilient city”.
