Hernâni Oliveira

Hernâni Oliveira is a researcher and invited professor at the University of Évora. He has two degrees in Biology and Communication Sciences (specialization in Journalism), from the University of Porto. At this institution, he also completed two master’s degrees, one in Oncology and the other in Health Education, defending his doctoral thesis under the Austin | Portugal in Digital Media applied to Health Literacy, in partnership with the University of Texas, in the United States of America.

In early 2018, Hernâni Oliveira was selected to be one of the young scientists under the EIT Health Starship program, obtaining the 1st Prize of the competition at the Sorbonne University, in Paris.

Hernâni is also the founder of the company BRIGHT DIGITAL, a start-up oriented towards the development of technology that promotes therapeutic adherence in the most vulnerable population. His projects in the field of breast cancer and pediatric oncology were awarded the Diogo Vasconcelos Social Entrepreneurship prize, the RedEmprendia prize from Banco Santander and the Grand Prize C3 Prize, promoted by pharmaceutical Astellas Oncology.

Hernâni received the vote of praise from the city of Esposende, as well as the Prize for Active Citizenship in the area of ​​Entrepreneurship from the University of Porto, for his efforts in working digital solutions in a network, through responses that use principles of collaborative intelligence between institutions.
