Ana Barbosa is graduated in Nursing and Specialist in Public Health and Community Nursing from the Nursing School of Porto.
In 2015, she began her clinical career at the Unidade Local de Saúde de Matosinhos, at the Internalsl Medicine Department.
In 2016, she completed the Master’s Degree in Health Education from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto.
Currently, she is a PhD student in Public Health, by the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto, under a PhD Studentship by FCT with the project entitled “Walking football for type 2 diabetes patients: a novel strategy for developing physical activity programs”. Since 2018, her research has been focused on the physical activity field, mainly in implementing and managing community-based exercise programs among individuals with type 2 diabetes.
She is also a member of the Laboratory for Integrative and Translational Research in Population Health (ITR) in Physical Activity and noncommunicable diseases line coordinated by Dr Romeu Mendes.
