Gonçalo Silva

Gonçalo Silva graduated in Environmental Health in 2022 and holds a Certificate of Pedagogical Competences (CCP), a Professional Credential of Environmental Health Technician and a Professional Title of Senior Technician in Occupational Safety Level VI. He is currently a student of the Master’s Degree in Public Health at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto, in partnership with ISPUP.

During his curricular internships, he had the opportunity to work in Public Health at the Entre Douro e Vouga I Health Centers Group, in Environmental Management at the São João University Hospital Center, and in Occupational Health and Safety at TAFE. He currently works in Research at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto and at the Interdisciplinary Center for Marine and Environmental Research, he is a scientific communicator for “Cartas com Ciência” and collaborator at the Portuguese Association of Environmental Health (APSAI).

Throughout his professional journey, he had the opportunity to integrate some national and international projects, such as the “Bloco Verde” project and the European Week for Waste Reduction. He has also made several scientific publications in the form of abstracts and scientific posters. He holds more than 50 relevant training courses in the areas of Environmental Engineering, Public Health, Food Safety, Hygiene, and Occupational Safety, among others, which he acquired during his journey at some institutions such as FMUP, ESS-IPP, ESTES Coimbra, INSA, and IEFP.

He is currently integrated into the Epidemiology Laboratory of Allergic Conditions at ITR under the guidance of Dr. João Cavaleiro Rufo.
