Gabriela Albuquerque

Gabriela Albuquerque graduated in Nutritional Sciences from the Faculty of Nutrition and Food Sciences of the University of Porto and obtained a master’s degree in Public Health from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto (FMUP) with the thesis “Eating Behaviours related to appetite during childhood: determinants from a prospective approach”. She finished her PhD in Public Health in 2021 (FMUP), with the thesis “Street food in Central Asia and Eastern Europe” (SFRH/BD/118630/2016).

She has integrated several national and international research projects in Public Health Nutrition. She is currently member of the research team of the projects “FEEDCities – Food Environment Description in cities from Central Asia and Eastern European countries” (WHO registrations 2015/591370; 2017/698514), developed in partnership with the World Health Organization – Europe, and “Development and validation of a photo-based instrument to assess nutritional literacy” (EXPL/SAU-NUT/1508/2021).

She is part of the “Health Communication” laboratory at the ITR.
