Carla Daniela Alves Martins

Graduated in Cardiopneumology (2005-2009), completed the Advanced Intensive Course in Biostatistics and Clinical Research at ISPUP, and the Allergy School in Research Methods at the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI) at the University of Northumbria, Newcastle Upon Tyne, UK.

As a Superior Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technician at the University Hospital Center of São João since 2010, she has extensive experience working in a clinical setting, specifically in the evaluation of respiratory physiology and non-invasive evaluation of airway inflammation. As an Integrated Researcher at the Institute of Public Health of the University of Porto (ISPUP) he collaborates in the Generation 21 cohort.

Since 2017, she has been a lecturer in the curricular unit of Allergology and Pulmonology in the postgraduate program in Sports Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto (FMUP) and at the Portuguese Society of Sports Medicine (SPMD). He also collaborates in the creation and maintenance of educational content in the area of Machine Learning for Korbit Technologies, a start-up dedicated to teaching programming and Data Science in an interactive and personalized way through artificial intelligence tools.

The main research interests are in respiratory physiology, non-invasive evaluation of airway inflammation and application of machine learning (machine learning) techniques to health research (predictive models and decision support models). She has several publications as first author and co-author in these areas. He presented several papers at international conferences, contributions that were repeatedly awarded with Travel Grants by the organizing societies.
