L4 - Patient and Population Outcomes Research

The ultimate goal of the thematic line is to improve population health through progress in clinical medicine and public health strategies, by conducting multidisciplinary research projects.

Synergistic collaborations between epidemiologists, clinical researchers and core basic scientists, allow us to focus our research efforts into the most relevant health conditions or unmet clinical needs with a high level of rationalization of human and technical resources.

Our research is targeted to uncover better ways to understand the mechanisms of disease, to prevent, diagnose and treat so that improved overall health outcomes are possible. These include the identification of epidemiological trends, new syndromes, more precise characterization of previously known diseases, development of new diagnostic tests and therapeutic approaches.
