Leonor Frey Furtado graduated, in 2023, at Faculty of Dental Medicine of University of Porto, where she obtained her master degree in Dental Medicine.
Her master’s thesis focused on oral microbiology and oral pathology, in collaboration with Instituto de Investigação e Inovação em Saúde (i3s), delving into two systematic reviews exploring the role of dysbiosis and the effects of probiotics in therapeutic-induced oral mucositis. As a result of her research, she has already published one article, and another one has been submitted to an international journal for review.
Currently, Leonor is engaged in her doctoral project, which is supported by the PRUDENT scholarship (Prioritization, incentives and Resource use for sUstainable DENTistry). This project is a collaborative effort between the Faculty of Dental Medicine at the University of Porto and Instituto de Saúde Pública da Universidade do Porto (ISPUP).
